There was one death yesterday in Santa Fe Springs and one death in Rowland Heights, on the border of the Whittier Area.
Both the City of Whittier and City of La Habra saw big increases in their daily new COVID cases while other parts of the Whittier Area saw a temporary decrease due to the weekend lag in data. Both communities appear to be on track to become Whittier Area super spreaders that may be headed toward new and unfortunate lockdowns if they can't keep the numbers under control. The numbers in both are jumping too high too fast. It's just a question at what point or daily/weekly number would a new lockdown be triggered? We oppose lockdowns but sometimes they are temporarily necessary and readers can see the numbers for themselves. We hope that Whittier residents can get the numbers back under control before a new lock down becomes necessary for the community.
The top 5 communities with the highest number of new cases were:
City of Whittier- 39
City of La Habra- 25
City of Pico Rivera- 17
Unincorporated Hacienda Heights- 13
Unincorporated South Whittier- 12
