In case we have not said so before, Whittier 360 supports the God given right of the people of Ukraine and all other peoples around the world to self determination.
The Putin administration's invasion of Ukraine for the territorial gain is contrary to international law and most of the treaties which Russia is still signatory to. The only legitimate means for land transfer is the process of the referendum as monitored by neutral international agencies.
Ukraine ought not give up any territory without the consent of the people of that territory as expressed by internationally monitored referendums. No government has the right to change the status of any territory without the consent of those living in such territory.
As such it is very important for Russia to halt its genocidal attacks on Ukrainian civilians and return to the negotiating table immediately.
