NEWLY EMERGING MYSTERY ILLNESS IN INDIA HAS WORLD'S PUBLIC HEALTH OFFICIALS CONCERNED

Health experts in India are frantically trying to identify the cause of a new but fast spreading mystery illness which so far has not been given a name.

They originally thought it was caused by polluted water from a community well but are finding the new disease in people who did not have access to the water and lived far from the original outbreak location.

So far more than 300 people have contracted the ailment which causes symptoms similar to epilepsy and nausea. Other symptoms include sudden anxiety, loss of consciousness where people suddenly pass out-out of the blue. Test on the water from the local well did not show any contamination.

India's national government is deploying health experts to the area and the World Health Organization is also rushing in a team to determine the cause.

According to the Indian government, the majority of people with the new diseases are in their teens, 20's and early 30's. At least one person has already died from the mystery disease which appears to be spreading from person to person. They reported that some of the patients were under the age of 12.

The government is currently investigating the possibility the disease could be caused by air pollution caused by widespread usage of Organochlorine pesticides.
