This is the Whittier Area COVID 19 update for Monday January 25 2021.
Data from Monday indicates that for the first time since the pandemic arrived in the Whittier Area, deaths caused by COVID 19 have dropped below 5 per community. The data also shows that most Whittier Area communities had zero spread of the SARS COV 2 virus on Monday.
The top 5 highest new cases which are all below 50:
City of Whittier 47 new cases 2 deaths
Pico Rivera 44 new cases 0 deaths
Santa Fe Springs 32 new cases 0 deaths
La Habra 30 new cases 1 death
La Mirada 20 new cases 0 deaths
As you can see this is the first time that South Whittier was not part of the top 5 for either new cases or COVID 19 caused deaths.
