Whittier, CA - The festive spirit is set to illuminate the City of Whittier as the community eagerly anticipates a double dose of holiday magic on Saturday, December 2nd. The Whittier Uptown Association, in collaboration with the City of Whittier, invites everyone to partake in the joyous celebrations that promise to light up hearts and streets alike.
Festive Tree Lighting at Whittier City Hall
The holiday festivities begin with the annual tree lighting event, scheduled from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Whittier City Hall, located at 13230 Penn Street. Attendees will witness the lighting of a magnificent 26-foot holiday tree, a symbol of the community's shared holiday spirit and joy. This family-friendly event will feature enchanting carolers and holiday tunes, creating an atmosphere of classic holiday cheer. In addition to the musical festivities, attendees can engage in fun seasonal crafts, perfect for children and adults alike. To complete the festive experience, warm hot cocoa and treats will be available, offering a cozy respite from the winter chill. The best part? This entire experience is free of charge, making it accessible for all to enjoy.
Annual Holiday Sonata in Uptown Whittier
As the tree lights up, the celebration continues Uptown. From 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Greenleaf Avenue in Uptown Whittier will transform into a winter wonderland for the Annual Holiday Sonata. This part of the event promises an array of activities and performances. The evening will feature lively dance, choir, and band performances, set to infuse the air with festive rhythms and melodies. Younger attendees can look forward to special holiday activities designed just for them. And, of course, no holiday celebration would be complete without an opportunity to take photos with Santa Claus himself! As with the tree lighting, the Holiday Sonata is a free event, ensuring that the joy of the season is shared widely within the community.
