As the conjunction of Winter Solstice 2020 attracted local attention, the phenomenon dubbed the Christmas Star brought some long sought good news to Whittier Area residents. Whittier Area COVID 19 numbers continued their downward trend for the 4th day in a row.
For the first time in 2 months there were zero deaths in the entire Whittier Area. Outside the Whittier Area, in the communities bordering the Whittier Area there were only deaths.
Taking a look at the numbers, the daily number of new infections is down for every community except one and many show signs of being decline for at least 4 days in a row. Even the three that were above 100 were showing signs of a 4th day of decline.
Pico Rivera was the only community where the daily infection went up and it did not go up by very much.
As the graph shows, the daily new infections have either been stable or going down for the last 4 days in most Whittier Area Communities.
