FAMILY SETS UP FUNDRAISER FOR WHITTIER WOMAN

The relatives of the Whittier woman who was shot at the Whittwood Kohl's in the City of Whittier on late Monday afternoon have established a fundraiser for the community to assist in covering funeral costs and to provide counseling to her children.

The creator of the fundraiser, identified by Gofundme as Albert Mendoza, identified the woman as Yvonne Rodriguez. The fundraiser said Yvonne was an "aunt, godmother, daughter, sister and friend to many." She had two children. In addition to the son who is 8, she also had a 22 year old daughter.

The information in the fundraiser confirms suspicions that the incident was the culmination of years of domestic abuse.
