Dear Whittier 360 News Network readers,
We regret to inform you that earlier today, our Facebook page and website were targeted in a hacking incident. We became aware of the issue when Facebook notified us about a post containing nudity and obscene materials, which violated their community standards. The images in question were not part of the original post and were added without our knowledge or consent.
Upon further investigation, we discovered an unfamiliar login location on our Facebook account. We have since taken measures to secure our account and prevent unauthorized access. Unfortunately, the hacker(s) also breached our website and computer systems. Our team conducted a thorough scan, uncovering a trojan traced to multiple locations, including one within the United States and another inside the Russian Federation.
We have successfully quarantined and removed the trojan from our systems. In response to this incident, we are now blocking all Russian IP addresses and the US IP address that served as a host for the virus. This measure aims to enhance our security and protect our readers from further malicious activity.
We sincerely apologize for any offense or inconvenience this incident may have caused our readers and anyone who visited our page today. Rest assured, we are taking all necessary steps to prevent similar incidents in the future and ensure the safety of our online platforms.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
Sincerely,
The Whittier 360 News Network Team
